Removing the bladder can be part of the treatment regimen for advanced bladder cancers. Typically, patients choose between one of two options: removal of the bladder with a urinary diversion or being treated with tri modal therapy, which includes a transurethral resection and then combinations of chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
