Dr. David Lee Reunion
Dr. David Lee returns to UCI Urology as Professor of Clinical Urology and Director of our UCI Health Comprehensive Prostate Cancer Center. After a very successful career of establishing robotic surgical programs across the United States, this is a sweet UCI reunion having completed his original fellowship in robotic surgery under mentors Dr. Ralph V. Clayman and Dr. Thomas Ahlering.
Dr. Lee continues to be a leading specialist in robot-assisted radicalprostatectomy, pioneering a pathway under which most patients can go home the same day of their procedure. His experience with over 6,000 cases with this minimally invasive procedure has improved outcomes and minimized side effects like blood loss, pain, loss of urinary control and sexual function.

Symposium on Prostate Cancer Updates, 118 participants joined from 15 states nationally and 19 countries globally.
Among other firsts here at UCI this month, Dr. Lee successfully performed his first single port robot prostate cancer case at UCI Medical Center. We hope to collaborate with you to bring more success to patients with prostate cancer and see continued growth of this program.

UCI Men’s Health Initiative
Development of the Men’s Health Hub at UCI Birch Street in Newport Beach is phase 1 of UCI’s Comprehensive Men’s Health Initiative, which seeks to transform the way in which men’s health is delivered in Orange County and beyond. Overall, there are four components to the Comprehensive Men’s Health Initiative, which we refer to as the four P’s – prevention-focused patient education, personalized integrative care, a prostate cancer center, and a place where men can feel comfortable and inspired to proactively come for their check-ups. That “place” is the Men’s Health Hub, which is based off the idea from the Mount Sinai Men’s Health Center in New York City, affectionately known as “The Man Cave.”
The UCI Men’s Health Hub will include a California-style health bar,
a teaching kitchen, an educational resource center, a nurse navigator station, and a men’s health lounge where patients can relax in a tranquil environment as they await their physician visit. The UCI Comprehensive Men’s Health Hub is a unique venue or “man cave” that provides a comfortable and appealing place for men to discuss their personal health issues. Based off the idea from Mt. Sinai NYC Men’s Health Center, we also wanted to create a trusted location here in Southern California. Bringing together hospitality and service, collaborative world-class care, a prostate cancer center, cutting edge technologies, all with a focus on prevention and health.
This hub will include a California-style health bar, teaching kitchen, educational opportunities, dedicated staff
including hosts, nurse navigators, and onsite innovative diagnostic tools and treatments.
