Mission

The Urology Leadership Council supports the philanthropic activities of the Department of Urology at UC Irvine and represents the Department to the various communities and business groups it serves.

Goals

The Urology Leadership Council and its members would have the following primary goals:

Support the Director

  • Advise the Director on planning, development, and outreach to help accomplish the goals of the Department.
  • Advise, whenever appropriate, on marketing, financial, educational and other operational issues of the Department.

Create awareness

  • Learn about the vision, mission and goals of the Department of Urology.
  • Be an active advocate (champion) for the Department of Urology.
  • Inform others (business and personal contacts) about your involvement with the Department of Urology.

Build relationships

  • Identify and cultivate relationships with individuals, corporations and foundations to advance the Department of Urology’s vision, mission and goals.
  • Introduce the Chairman, faculty, and development officers to friends and associates, and help engage them in the Department of Urology.
  • Host/co-host events for the Department of Urology.

Generate support

  • Make a personal commitment of time and support.
  • Help identify interests and cultivate prospective donors who can help advance the Department of Urology’s projects and programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings.
  • Support the Director, create awareness, build relationships, and generate support for the Department of Urology.

Frequency of Meetings

Quarterly meetings.

  • At each meeting, the council members will be briefed on new business initiatives and urologic research initiatives within the Department.
