Overview:
This is a one year paid Men’s Health Fellowship. The Men’s Health Fellowship will enable the fellow to acquire an advanced body of knowledge and level of skill in the specialty to assume a leadership role in teaching and research in the field. The Fellow will participate in clinical and surgical activities at the Men’s Health Center at UCI Health Newport – Birch Street, UCI Medical Center in Orange, the outpatient surgery center and the new Irvine Hospital when it opens.

Focus:
- Male sexual medicine (erectile dysfunction, hypogonadism, Peyronie’s disease, orgasmic and ejaculatory dysfunction, scrotal and penile conditions)
- Penile prosthetics
- Male LUTS/BPH (HOLEP, Aquablation, MIST procedures – UroLift, Rezum, Optilume BPH)
- Male urinary incontinence (AUS, slings, bulking agents, ProAct, chemo-denervation, and sacral neuromodulation)
- Male infertility (vasectomy, TESA, micro-TESE, microscopic varicocelectomy, microscopic spermatic cord denervation, microscopic vasectomy reversal)
- Exposure to male and female regenerative therapies
- Overactive bladder
- Pelvic floor and genital conditions
- Female sexual dysfunction (optional)
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Participate in clinical and surgical activities with faculty
- Participate in research activities with faculty
- Call coverage with residents
Academic Responsibilities:
- Participate in ongoing clinical studies and trials with faculty
- Attend yearly AUA, SMSNA meetings
- Present at UCI Grand Rounds
- Help organize and participate in yearly UCI Men’s Health and HOLEP courses
- Attend industry and SMSNA sponsored courses
- Attend SUFU, ASRM, ISSWSH and WMSM meetings (optional)
Schedule (Flexible):
- 2 days of Men’s Health/Prosthetics
- 1-2 days of LUTS/BPH
- 1 day of Male Infertility
- 1 day of FSD (optional)
Applicant Qualifications
Candidates must hold a MD and have completed a US Residency Program in Urology. Candidates must be U.S. or Canadian citizens. Candidates must apply for a California medical license, Fluoroscopy License, and DEA certificate before starting the program in July.
Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG): Candidates must be graduates of a World Health Organization-recognized medical school, hold an ECFMG certificate, and completed a postgraduate training in their home country.
