Grand Rounds
The Grand Rounds conference meets each Monday, 5:15 pm - 7:15 pm in the Department of Urology conference room, hosting prominent and influential guest faculty presenters who provide for timely and high-impact continuing medical education training at UC Irvine. Each month is devoted to one of the 12 major areas of urology (e.g. prostate cancer, urolithiasis, infertility, etc.). During that month, the selected area is explored through case presentations, didactic sessions, a review of pertinent chapters in Campbell’s Urology, and a faculty directed review of the current literature focused on this area. These sessions are CME approved and include the latest requirements with regard to a clear statement of each lecture’s goals and a self-assessment evaluation of each participant’s understanding of the presented material.

CME training programs educate physicians for their office-based practice while providing them with important information on the rapidly developing new frontiers of urologic therapy. Equally important, our unique curriculum that has been developed encourages critical evaluation and the self-directed learning skills that all physicians need to acquire and maintain throughout their professional careers and to meet evolving medical licensing requirements.
